Abstract:

Vinh Long is a province between Tien and Hau rivers where has many advantages for agricultural development. Therefore, the land protection and effective land use are interested by provincial leader in Vinh Long. There are two aims of this study: i) Evaluation the changing and effecting of factors to land use change in Vinh Long province; ii) Assessment of soil quality change from 2005 to 2015 and consider the relations between land use change and them. By the way, combine the statistical method with Multi criteria evaluation (MCE) and techniques for spatial data analytic using GIS to show agricultural land use changes. Replacing the rice land use by vegetable plants or fruits which is suitable of the aims from Vinh Long government are the primary changes. Moreover, this paper showed 6 criterias of the first factor and 7 standards of the second factors that effect to land use change in study area. They are effective of the economy, land use requirement, soil properties/land, policy of government, the climate/weather and irrigation water resources. In addition, the outcome of spatial analysis show that the alluvium soil group (Fluvisols), the Glay group (Gleysols) and Anthrosols group are increasing and change quality because of land use change.
