Abstract:

This paper assesses accuracy of Real Time Kinematics (RTK) for large scale mapping and presents a combination of RTK and a Total station (TS) for establishing topographic and cadastral maps. A module was programmed to transfer TS-based coordinates in an assumed coordinate system to desired coordinate system of the map through tie points, which have coordinate in both coordinate systems. The results showed that the RTK with the aid of a TS, where RTK is not available, can be an efficient tool for establising large scale map.
