Abstract:
Studies on features of mineralization of maganese in Na Pet area are introduced in this article. Following conclusions are made: - Original manganese distributes in zones of deformation in sericite quartz schist interfered with thin layers of quartzite of Phia Phuong formation. Average length from 0,7 to 3,2m, altering from stable to unstable. Mn content in original ore varies from 0,04 to 23,36% (4,73% in average), and very unstable in content. - Ore minerals are psilomelane, manganite, pyroluzite, and other iron-containing minerals such as magnetite, limonite, and few pyrite. Ore structures are colloidal, discrystalline, erosional, small-sized grain, or framed. Symbiotic mineral assemblage for ore-forming phase is psilomelane - pyroluzite - limonite. Ore in this area is of the absorption weathering type. - Eluvium and deluvium ores are crust-formed, distributed in a large area, and oriented to Northeast – Southwest (parallel to the orientation of original ore). Mineral composition is similar to original ore. Eluvium and deluvium are transported boulder, cobble, pierce and silt. Ore bodies vary from 1-2m to 5- 6m in depth (10 – 15m in some places, and 3 – 4m in average), and stable. Mn content varies from 0,02 to 21,10% (5,06% in average), and very unstable. Ore content remains low, small-scaled but easy to extract. - Beside maganese, iron content was analysed to be high and should be considered as supplement target of extraction during maganese exploitation.
