Abstract:

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) is the transmision of electrical energy from a power source to an electrical load. WPT applied a wide range of subjects in various fields such as mobile devices, medical applications and electrical vehicles. There are two techniques in wireless power transfer including near-field technique and far-field techniques. The main problem for WPT techniques is how to improve efficiency of system in long distance with low cost and simple structure. In this paper, the transmitter and receiver coils of WPT systems are modelling using ANSYS Maxwell simulation tool. Then, with the use of numerical method in ANSYS Simplorer software, the self and mutual inductance of the coils is computed by assigning distance and rotation between the two coils as variables. The efficiency of the system was estimated through the calculation of input and output power. The results also revealed that the efficiency of system follows distance and rotation between TX and RX coils with different cases. Finally, some remarks and recommendations regarding future studies are proposed.
