Abstract:

2D electrical sounding method apply for dam assessments are distorded by geometry of the dams, free air out of the dam’s roof and water in reservoir. Based on 2D and 3D modeling of geoelectrical models, the distortion is assessed for different electrical arrays. These results may assisst to choose a proper electrical array for investigating the dams. We have carried out a new data processing workflow that reduces significantly the influences of 3D media on 2D soundings data for both synthetic and real data constrained on prior information of resistivity parameters.
