Abstract:

The method of sand-cement-lime columns for the improvement of soft soils is a new method which is proposed based on the sand columns, soil-cement columns, and soil-lime columns. The main purposes of this method are mechanical compression, consolidation, and increasing the strength of its column and soils in the vicinity of the column after foundation treatment. The paper presented the application results of this method to soft soil treatment in Tay Thuy Anh high school, Thai Binh province. This method is both technically and economically efficient. Results showed that after foundation treatment, the cohesion force increased by 126%, the coefficient of compression decreased to 55%, the deformation module increased by 277%
