Abstract:

Nhue - Day River flows through five provinces/cities, which are Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, and Hoa Binh. Using rapid assessment techiques in environmental pollution (efluent loads), it is forecast that in 2020, Nhue - Day river will receive more than 1,490,031 m3 of domestic and industrial waste water per day, including 178.36 tons of SS, 183.79 tons of BOD, and 335.04 tons of COD. The domestic wastewater accounts for 59.75% of total waste water discharged into Nhue - Day river with 70,64% of COD load; 71.54% of BOD load and 58.97% of SS load. Hanoi is the city which contributes the largest amount with 58.91% of waste water, 53.31% of BOD load, 53.29% of the COD load, and 53.05% of the SS load. Hoa Binh province has the lowest rate of discharged pollutants into the Nhue - Day river with 5.42% of waste water, 5.15% of BOD load; 5.2% COD load and 5.9% SS load
